Wear walking shoes

We are situated at the foot of a STEEP 300m hill which you have to walk down a dirt and stone path to reach us (and walk back up eventually). We recommend you wear walking shoes. Nothing extreme is necessary, just something with a little grip. The path can get slippery, especially during rainy season.

Pack warm clothes

It can be very sunny and warm during the day, but because we’re located in the tropical mountains it can get quite chilly at night. Be sure to bring a warm jacket or sweater with you. Staying with us? Don’t worry, all of our rooms feature extra cozy Guatemalan made blankets and hot showers! The Temazcal is also great at night when the temperatures drop!

Bring a flashlight

In order to maintain the peace and tranquility of the mountains and to reduce our carbon footprint, we have minimal outdoor lighting. Be sure to bring a flashlight if you’ve visiting for dinner or staying with us overnight.

Bring a raincoat or umbrella

Our mountains are so lush and beautiful because we receive bountiful rain. Even if you are visiting outside of the rainy season, we can get an afternoon rain shower so it’s best to plan ahead and bring rain gear.
