Temazcal translates as “house of heat”. A Mayan Temazcal is an igloo shaped sweat lodge made of volcanic rock, mud and cement. In the ancient Maya world, the Temazcal represented the womb and was used as part of a curative ceremony to purify the body after exertion or for healing the sick and improving health. Our Temazcal is wood-heated, and can be used as a dry sauna or water can be poured over the hot drum containing the burning wood to produce wet steam. Purifying aromatics, towels, and water are included in your temazcal experience.
Our Temazcal is available for guests and day visitors.
We do not recommend for children under the age of 12 years.
